HOW TO MAKE SOAPNUT LIQUID

Put around 30g of soapnut
and 6 cups of water into pot.

Boil for around hald an hour.
Cut shells into small pieces
to reduce boiling time to 15 - 20 minutes.

Watch not to let it boil over.

Approx. 4 cups of soapnut liquild will be ready
if no water is added while boiling.
Add some water to make more liquid.
Thicker liquid works better, so, if you
want to make it thicker, put more volume
of soapnut to start boiling. Adjust volume
of soapnuts and water to find your favorite.

Take out nuts as well as let liquid cool down before
pouring it into preservation bottle or container.
(Bottles shown below are those with snap-caps, of
which two kinds of capacity, 220ml and 300ml are
available in our online stores.)

It is recommended :
- to subdevide liquid into bottols or containers and use
one by one to prevent contamination.
and
- to keep them in dark cool space and consume soon.

Freeze it for long-term preservation using ice cube
tray. Frozen cubes of soapnut liquid are handy as well.

60 to 100 ml of soapnut liquid may be required for one
time of machine washing. The volume to consume
depends on its thickness and conditions of laundry.

HOW TO MAKE SOAPNUT MEAL

One of our customers taught us that to grind soapnuts into meal is goodfor using them handy in various way,
laundry, cleaning of juerlies, spectacles, cars and so on.

Put some pieces of soapnut shells in electrical coffee grinder, shut lid and switch on to grind for some seconds.
(White substances are rich with saponin, browny substances are ground skin.)

Remarks :
Soapnut shells are actually a flesh of fruit in which sometimes remains a seed, a black ball with diameter of around 1cm.
It must be removed before starting grinding as it is hard and strong enoughto damage grinder while grinding.

Put meal in wash bag
and tie up with drawstrings.
Wash bag with meal can
be dropped in laundry
machine.
Wet it to use for washing
and cleaning things.

While washing saponin
flows out from wash bag,
leaving skin fragments in it.

Make sure to close opening
of wash bag until non-saponin
substances does not go out.

Clean grinder after use.
If chips of soapnut shells stay in it,
they absorb moisture and adhere to
surfaces and gaps inside grinder
and that may cause some failure.
